Description

The table tennis game uses a racket made of wood (base) covered with one or two layers of special rubber (lining) on both sides (when using the game grip "pen" sometimes one of the sides of the racket has no lining, in this case, this side should not be used during the game). The pads on different sides of the racket are different, they are evenly colored and matte: one side is black, and the other is bright red.
The base of the racket is made of several layers of wood and other materials. The pad usually consists of two layers: the outer one is made of rubber (topsheet) and the inner one is made of sponge. The rubber layer can be of two types — spikes inside (smooth) and spikes out (spikes). The given racket is spiked inside. Sponges are equally hard and measured in degrees - from about 30 (soft) to almost 50 (hard). The model of the lining is made with sponges of different thickness, you can replace it, which changes its characteristics. The rules limit the maximum total (rubber plus sponge) thickness of the pads. Sometimes the sponge is not used and stick the rubber directly on the base.

According to ITTF rules, the base of the racket must be at least 85% wood. This racket is allowed to play in competitions, some types of spikes are prohibited (mainly long), which allow the owner of such pads to ignore the rotation of the opponent's ball. The racket has minor dents, scuffs and scratches.
At the beginning of the meeting and when changing the racket during the meeting, the player must show his racket to the opponent and the judge in order to check it for compliance with the rules.
