Segregation Cast Iron sign July 1931 Savannah Georgia .
This auction is for a Cast Iron sign from the Grand Theater in Savannah Georgia. The sign says "COLORED MUST SIT IN BALCONY" and on the bottom left hand corner it says "GRAND THEATER, SAVANNAH GEORGIA" and on the bottom right side it is says "JULY'31". It does show some signs of wear / rust from the years but is in overall excellent shape. This Heavy Cast Iron Plaque is approx 8 1/4 inches long and 2 3/4 inches Tall. This is a wonderful piece of Black Americana and would be a nice addition to anyone's sign collection. It has a small hole in each corner for mounting. Perfect as conversation piece or for your man cave.
