    Mexican Native Mexican Folk Art Painted "TECOMATE Gourd" Recipient Jar Vessel
    This painted Tecomate Vessel comes from the small town of  Olinalá, Guerrero, Mexico
    It is skillfully cut into 2 parts so it can be open & clsed and used like a small vessel to stoe things.
    This kind of Gourd- recipients are used in Mesoamerica since aoncient pre columbian times
    Its painted red, and decorated with birds and plant- motifs.
    The Stem ( who joined the Gourd to the Motherplant) is missing.
    measures ca. 15cm high & 11cm wide
    used gourd, in excellent condition - might have some light wear and very light dryness -cracks, please look at pics
    Tecomate Gourds  ( locally called " Tecomates, Bules") are used all over Mesoamerica since ancestral times.
    A nice ethnic item with deep pre columbian roots.
