This is an original vending machine from the National Sports Daily, an all-sports daily newspaper that existed from early 1990 until mid-1991 featuring some of the nation's best sportswriters, including Frank Deford, Mike Lupica, Dave Kindred, Scott Ostler, John Feinstein and many others. Most of these vending machines were yellow but this is one of the rare blue-and-green versions. Included with the machine are approximately 60 issues of "The National" with covers featuring the final issue, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Magic Johnson, George Steinbrenner, Bill Murray, Tom Landry, Michael Jordan, Nolan Ryan, Evander Holyfield, Rickey Henderson, Darryl Strawberry, Manute Bol, Ryne Sandberg, Jose Canseco and many other sports figures from the early 1990s. This machine has been kept in a home office or family room for nearly 30 years – never in a garage, basement, or storage unit – and is perfect for a sports-themed room. Also included is a blue promotional National hat and a promo card featuring Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing.
