Antique TESTED REAL JADE~ Chinese Carved White Mandarin Duck ~Baby ~Lingzhi ~STD

This auction is for a beautiful antique Chinese white jade carving in the form of a Mandarin duck with her baby at her side.  The mother duck has a lingzhi in her beak that drapes across her body.  The jade is a beautiful white color with a few little spots of russet brown.  White jade pieces are highly prized by collectors.  I purchased
this lovely genuine jade carving many years ago in California from a three-generation family collection of Asian antiques.  The owner told me that the carving was an antique from the Qing Dynasty (circa 1850 to 1910).
Many Chinese carvings being sold as jade or jadite are actually hard stones.  This duck carving was tested on a non-invasive & reliable Presidium tester and tests as jadite.  This is an opportunity to buy a lovely, genuine old white jade carving of Mandarin ducks.
Mandarin ducks are very  popular in Chinese art and are highly prized by collectors.  Mandarin ducks symbolize
fidelity, affection, peace and longevity.  Lingzhi are a form of mushroom or fungus that was first recorded during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 9 AD).  Lingzhi symbolize longevity.  A few of the photos were finished with a black & white filter to help show the details on the carving.  The other photos show the actual color of the white jade carving.
Carved discs, pendants, charms and amulets have been unearthed in Chinese tombs that date back at least 3000 years.  The exact original use is not documented.  It is believed the objects were used as amulets or charms to ward off evil and bring good fortune to the owner.  They were sometimes worn as pendants or on clothing in later times.
A vintage wood Chinese scroll display stand is included in the auction but is not original to the carving.  The vintage stand is in excellent condition with expected wear.  There are surface scratches and rubs but no cracks, missing pieces, repairs or other damage.
The carving of this lovely WHITE JADE piece required great skill and time by a Chinese artisan.  The antique carving is in excellent condition with normal wear as expected from use.  The duck charm does not sit upright but can be displayed on either side.  There are little spots of russet crown color in the white jade.  There might be minor surface scratches from being an antique.  There are no chips, cracks, repairs or damage to the carving.
