DANCING DOLL WITH WOOD PLATFORM !!
This jig doll belonged to my father-in-law who was an antique dealer.  He told us once that it came from the civil war period, though we can’t corroborate that, unfortunately.  Based on our research, we think he was likely created between 1900-1935 but again, we can’t be sure.  We’ve not seen another like him and he’s in great shape for his age – which could be 85+ years old.
Our jig doll has signs of wear and crazing.  He’s 10” tall and the wood pole on his back is intact.
He comes with the dancing platform.
This platform is 25" long and is 1 1/2" wide at the center & 4" wide at the ends. There are marks on this platform along with what might be water staining.
​Use this piece of Americana as a display piece or let him dance on the platform for fun and entertainment.
