I believe this coin entry assembly is for a 1940s era cigarette machine. It came to me in this original shipping box which I think was not large enough to safely ship the item as one corner of the die cast front was broken off but inside the box.
I surmise that this is why it never went on a machine.
It is die cast pot metal with a chrome finish.
The USPS shipping sticker is totally faded out, but it was shipped from Shaffer Music Company in Columbus Ohio to Archbold Cigarette & Music Service in Archbold Ohio.
