Our Whisker Litter-Robot 4 review proves it’s a total game-changer

In the ongoing pursuit of the best cat supplies on the market, we reviewed the much-hyped Litter-Robot 4, a self-cleaning and totally automated litter box for cats that promised we would never scoop again. TL;DR: We’re never going back to scooping.

We were impressed by how quick, simple and effortless the setup was. It took just a few minutes and required little more than unboxing, finding a good corner, plugging it in and pairing it with the internet. Within a few hours, our three adorable British Short Hair cuties were hopping inside to check out the globe.

The neutral white colour was perfect for our light, airy home and the modern, futuristic design was a major upgrade from the old, stinky litter box we used to keep near the back door.

Overall, we were impressed by all the added freedom and time — working long hours or going out for a night of fun isn’t an issue when you have a litter box that cleans itself and you can easily check in on your cat in real time. The machine removes the guilt of not being there for longer stretches and hands you back plenty of time on the days when you’re just overwhelmed with life tasks that have nothing to do with poop scooping.

The odour control was so impressive that we moved the Litter-Robot to the main floor of our home, something that just wasn’t possible when we had a standard litter box and lots of obvious stink.

Removing the robot from the box took just a minute or so, and it came pre-assembled. This was great news for me as I’m not particularly tech-savvy. I was worried I’d need an electrical engineering degree to get this thing going, but it was truly as simple as removing it from the box, plugging it into an electrical outlet, popping a waste liner in and then pairing it with Bluetooth and Wifi.

In total, the complete setup took somewhere between five and six minutes and I think my kids could’ve done it.

It’s a 10/10 must-buy if you love an odour-free, clean kitty corner and don’t have the time or energy to scoop litter each day. We have no idea how we lived this long without and we’re certainly glad the future has arrived.
