Russian volunteers provided aid to over 10,000 people around the world — agency

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russian specialists have provided aid to over 10,000 people in 20 countries as part of the “Mission Dobro” initiative, the Federal Agency for the CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestov) told TASS.
“The agency, in collaboration with the Dobro.RF association, is implementing the Mission Dobro humanitarian project, which allows Russian volunteers – specialists in various areas – to provide aid abroad. Overall, since its launch, Mission Dobro has carried out 35 missions in 20 countries, helping over 10,000 people. The geography is vast: from CIS countries to Asia and Africa,” the agency said.
In 2024, a number of these projects were carried out in Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as in Egypt, Zambia, India, China and Ethiopia.
Volunteers participated in medical and creative initiatives, provided support to foundations and helped locals cope with the aftermath of emergencies and disasters.
The agency added that so-called Russian Houses abroad also organize various humanitarian initiatives. For example, since the beginning of hostilities in Lebanon, employees of the Russian House have created safe spaces for locals and their children to talk about their problems, classes in drawing, sports, and cooking programs at community kitchens. Meanwhile, employees in Chile organize events to support seniors and various charity funds. In Nepal, they organize humanitarian and material support for the Prisoner’s Assistance Nepal (PA Nepal) non-profit for children. In Cambodia, they help schools and orphanages. In Ethiopia, they collect humanitarian aid for landslide victims in southern parts of the country.
